Compliments of the New Year! 🙂

It is already the 7th of January, and it seems just yesterday that I was contemplating the closure of yet another year and what all it had meant for me even as it paved the way for a sequel. There was a sense of déjà vu in the air.

Except for one thing—a chunk of my holidays was taken up in finalizing my personal site. Tweaking it and polishing it to ensure it was perfect, for me at least. You could call the site my fancy online business card, for a better word. But why a personal site, you may ask? Is a blog not enough?

My justification for it is that I keep getting asked, “So what exactly do you do?” My ‘About’ page in my blog doesn’t help, limited as it is with its stunted description of me. Blame it on my being an introvert.

I truly believe humans are multi-dimensional beings and when we strive to be uni-dimensional we sell ourselves short. We have the DNA and the capacity to express ourselves in many ways and to also shine in each.

Coming to terms with this fact and not dismissing parts of me as being inconsequential and, hence, not worthy of diligent nurturing and celebration was not an overnight revelation. Instead it took me many years. I now put in equal effort into all my pet passions that make me happy, and also hold them up as valid accomplishments. What I do for a living is, in consequence, just as meaningful to me as how I spend a Sunday afternoon.

In my first post for 2017 I would like to, thus, share with you my recent labour of love. I have named it www.ramaarya.com.

The site is a compilation of my many facets—as a communication capacity builder, traveller, blogger, art enthusiast, and volunteer—and the stories behind them, and, therefore, me.

I would also like to add that it would give me much joy if you could tell me more about yourselves in this post’s ‘Comments’ section or through a note sent from my website’s ‘Contact’ section.

Happy New Year. May we this year celebrate our wholeness with much gusto. ❤

  1. Hi Rama, I just recently found your blog and also just recently started blogging myself. I had a look a your personal site now and find it very well organized and appealing. What is more, I can relate to all of your subcategories: travelling, blogging, art, volunteering. I want to make it short here, but I have also lots of stories to tell. Btw, I am German and in 1991 I was backpacking through India for two months all by myself 🙂 If you wish to find out more about me, you can do so by looking at my artist’s page http://www.sommerkunst.net or read my blog http://www.sommerkunstblog.net. I would be happy to stay in touch 🙂

    • Welcome to India! It is a wonderful country, and a traveller’s paradise. I moved back here six years ago and not a day goes by that I am not surprised or impressed by its superlatively rich heritage and colourful people. 🙂 Am glad I am getting to share my experiences with you. Thank you for reading my posts.
