Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum is Mumbai’s oldest museum, and the country’s third oldest. It started off as the Victoria & Albert Museum, Bombay, in 1872. Painted in celadon green, Henry Cole, first director of the V&A Museum in London, considered this shade of green to be “the most appropriate colour for the contemplation of the arts.”
